The article, published in a local newspaper, describes how two boys spoke up during the very first sexual education workshop run in the school.

It describes how two twelve year old boys living in a rural area in India were not able to focus on their studies. They attended the workshop that was conducted in their school which explained the concept of ‘Good Touch and Bad Touch’. This workshop made them understand that touching private parts is wrong —irrespective of whether it is a boy or girl—and the boys realized that they were being sexually abused

Apparently, everyday on their way home from school, the boys were being abused by 3 men. The children did not even realize that they were being abused until the workshop made them realize that. The workshop gave them the courage to reach out to the teacher and describe the horrifying experience they face every day. The parents reported this incident to the police, who in turn arrested the three adults from the neighboring “Car Wash'' facility under POCSO (The Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses) Act, 2012.

The workshop also helped the kids understand that touching private parts is not acceptable in society and helped them reduce the shame and stigma associated with talking about such behavior.

Testimonials

Seeing a high school girl talk about such taboo topics so comfortably gives me the confidence I didn’t know I had within me to speak about such topics in front of a large audience as well.

Not only did L.E.A.P.’s information provide us with a guideline of how to carry out the teaching of CPR and Sexual Education with students, but it has also opened up uncomfortable topics for discussion that we never thought possible.

- Mrs. Revathi Devraj, Eureka School, Koovathur, Tamil Nadu, India

“The number of adults, families, and children this organization touches is unlike any other. Children are starting to open up about inappropriate behavior they have experienced themselves, or heard from others, in unprecedented numbers.”

—- Chandra Viswanathan, Founder of Eureka Schools Trust

“Because of the movies, I never thought CPR was as important or detailed as it is. In fact, a few of my relatives have passed away from cardiac arrest before, and none of us knew that there is a procedure an ordinary person could perform to save them. Thank you LEAP!”

—- AID India Administrator of Education

“Fainting happens at our school very often because of the heat and the fact that the students occasionally don’t eat enough. I feel more valuable now that I know how to effectively treat these students.”
